Time 25m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 1/2 lbs 80% lean ground beef
4 teaspoons spicy seasoning mix (recipe below)
4 egg-bread hamburger buns, split
romaine lettuce
tomatoes, slices
1/4 cup creamy ranch dressing
2 tablespoons canned French-fried onions
2 teaspoons sweet paprika
2 teaspoons dried thyme leaves, crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/2 teaspoon white pepper

Steps:

  • Prepare Spicy Seasoning Mix. Store in airtight container. Shake before using to blend. Makes 3 tablespoons.
  • Shape ground beef into four 3/4-inch-thick patties. Press Spicy Seasoning Mix evenly into both sides of each patty.
  • Heat large heavy nonstick skillet 5 minutes over medium heat until hot. Add patties to skillet. Cook 12 to 15 minutes to medium doneness (160 degrees) or until centers are no longer pink and juices show no pink color; turn once.
  • Line bottom of each bun with lettuce and tomato; top with burger. Spoon ranch dressing evenly over burgers; sprinkle with onions.
  • Close sandwiches. Enjoy.

Tips:

  • Select the right ground beef: Opt for a blend of 80% lean and 20% fat ground beef for juicy and flavorful burgers.
  • Season the beef patties generously: Use a combination of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to create a well-seasoned patty.
  • Form the patties gently: Handle the ground beef mixture gently to avoid compacting it, which can result in tough burgers.
  • Create a well in the center of each patty: This will help the patties cook evenly and prevent them from puffing up in the middle.
  • Cook the burgers over medium-high heat: This will create a nice crust on the outside while keeping the inside juicy.
  • Flip the burgers only once: Flipping the burgers too often can dry them out. Wait until the first side is nicely browned before flipping.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper doneness: Cook the burgers to your desired doneness, whether it's medium-rare, medium, or well-done.
  • Make the spicy ranch sauce ahead of time: This will give the flavors time to meld and develop.
  • Toast the burger buns: Toasting the buns will add a nice crunch and help hold the burger together.
  • Assemble the burgers with your favorite toppings: Add lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and cheese to your burgers, along with the spicy ranch sauce.

Conclusion:

These spicy ranch burgers are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a backyard barbecue or a casual weeknight dinner. With their juicy beef patties, flavorful spicy ranch sauce, and toasted buns, these burgers are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So, fire up your grill or heat up your pan, and get ready to enjoy these tantalizing burgers!
