HOT SPICED TEA FOR THE HOLIDAYS
This is an old family favorite, handed down from my great-grandmother. The holidays officially begin with Christmas carols and my favorite hot spiced tea! Definitely a seasonal comfort beverage for me! I prefer to use fresh juices with pulp. The flavors are different. Canned pineapple in light syrup is best. Set the pineapple chunks aside for the rest of your holiday baking. Store leftovers in refrigerator and reheat as needed.

SUGAR-FREE SPICED TEA (RUSSIAN) TEA
Yes, there are a couple of recipes here at Zaar for this wonderful mix, but I didn't see any with specifics and I think one used sugar-free Tang, which I cannot find anywhere. So, I gave up. One day, I came across this and EUREKA! I had to post because you CAN find all the ingredients at Walmart Super Centers, and most any market that sells Crystal Light. Isn't that WONDERFUL?? SO...diabetics rejoice and enjoy the holidays!

SPICED TEA MIX
I have been making this Spiced Tea Mix for over 30 years now, and it's such a wonderful treat that we look forward to every Christmas. I usually make a double or triple batch so I have extra (which I place in decorative jars or cellophane treat bags) to give as Christmas gifts to special friends, co-workers, my kids' teachers, bus drivers, and coaches. And every year I get requests for more, and someone always asks for the recipe. Feel free to adjust the ingredient amounts to suit your taste preferences. Serving size and yield are approximate (as preferences for stronger or weaker beverages can vary).

SPICED ORANGE TEA, HOT OR COLD
I found this recipe in a book I picked up at a thrift shop. I'm not really a tea drinker so like to find ways to get those good anti-oxidants without the tea taste. This is all orange & spice so I quite liked it. I didn't have whole cloves so made mine with a dash of ground cloves instead. I had one cup warm & then put the rest in the fridge to have iced, it was nice both ways.

Steps:
- Combine water, cloves, and cinnamon stick in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
- Place tea bags in spiced water, cover, and steep for ten minutes.
- In another saucepan, combine sugar, orange juice, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil.
- Strain tea into orange juice mixture.
- Chill, serve over ice.
Tips:
- Use fresh spices: Freshly ground spices provide the best flavor. If you don't have whole spices, you can use pre-ground spices, but use half the amount since they are more concentrated.
- Simmer for flavor: Simmer the spices in water for at least 15 minutes to extract the maximum flavor.
- Add sweetener to taste: Honey, sugar, or jaggery can be added to sweeten the tea. Adjust the amount to your preference.
- Strain before serving: Strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the spices. You can also use a tea infuser.
- Serve hot or cold: Spiced tea can be served hot or cold. If serving cold, chill the tea in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Conclusion:
Spiced tea is a delicious and healthy beverage that can be enjoyed year-round. It is easy to make and can be customized to your taste. With its warm, soothing flavors, spiced tea is the perfect drink to relax with or to enjoy with friends and family. Experiment with different spices and sweeteners to find your perfect combination.
