Provided by Connie McGinnis

Categories     Dips

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 pkg 8 oz. cream cheese; softened
1 16 oz. sour cream-not lite
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
lettuce; chopped
fresh tomatoes; chopped
1 pkg 16 oz. shredded cheddar or mexican blend shredded cheese
1 bag of your favorite tortilla chips for dipping

Steps:

  • 1. Put sour cream in a bowl; add in the softened cream cheese. Add in almost all of the packet of the taco seasoning mix; reserve enough of this to sprinkle on top of the dip. Mix ingredients with a mixer until smooth and creamy. Spoon in to a serving bowl. Add remaining taco seasoning mix; sprinkle this evenly on the very top of dip. Next; Top taco dip with chopped lettuce, chopped tomatoes and all of the cheese. Chill in refrigerator before serving. Dip your chip and Enjoy!
  • 2. * You can also add chopped green onion on top and a squirt of Tabasco sauce if you like! * At times, I use one whole packet of the Taco Seasoning Mix in the Dip and buy one extra so I can sprinkle more on top of the dip; your choice!

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices will give your taco dip the best flavor.
  • Don't overcook the ground beef: Overcooked ground beef will be tough and dry. Cook it just until it is browned and no longer pink.
  • Use a variety of toppings: The more toppings you use, the more flavorful your taco dip will be. Some popular toppings include shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, chopped onions, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
  • Serve with tortilla chips or vegetables: Taco dip can be served with tortilla chips or vegetables. If you are serving it with vegetables, cut the vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

Conclusion:

Southwestern taco dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any party or gathering. It is also a great way to use up leftover ground beef. With its creamy, cheesy, and flavorful ingredients, this dip is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
