Tips:

  • For a creamy coleslaw, use full-fat mayonnaise. For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt or a mayonnaise-yogurt blend.
  • Shred the cabbage and carrots as finely as possible. This will help the dressing adhere to the vegetables and make the coleslaw easier to eat.
  • If you don't have time to let the coleslaw marinate, you can serve it immediately. However, the flavors will be more developed if you let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • To make the coleslaw ahead of time, prepare it according to the recipe and then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Serve the coleslaw as a side dish with grilled or roasted meats, fish, or poultry. It's also a great topping for tacos, burritos, and sandwiches.

Conclusion:

This southwestern ranch dressing coleslaw with avocado is a delicious and refreshing side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be prepared ahead of time, making it a great option for busy weeknights. The creamy dressing, crunchy cabbage and carrots, and creamy avocado make this coleslaw a hit with everyone who tries it.
