Indulge in the classic Italian flavors of Chicken Parmesan, made with tender chicken breasts coated in a flavorful breadcrumb mixture, smothered in a rich marinara sauce, and topped with melted mozzarella cheese. This slow-cooker version offers a hassle-free way to enjoy this comforting dish without spending hours in the kitchen.

The recipe provides two variations: one using boneless, skinless chicken breasts for a leaner option and another using bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts for a more flavorful experience. Both versions are marinated in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper, infusing them with delightful herbs and spices.

The chicken is then coated in a combination of bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, creating a crispy and golden crust. For added flavor, you can also include grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley in the breadcrumb mixture.

The slow cooker does the rest of the work, simmering the chicken in a delicious marinara sauce until it's tender and juicy. The marinara sauce is made with crushed tomatoes, garlic, onion, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper, resulting in a rich and flavorful sauce that perfectly complements the chicken.

Once the chicken is cooked through, it's topped with melted mozzarella cheese and cooked until bubbly and golden brown. The result is a mouthwatering dish that combines the crispy breadcrumb coating, tender chicken, flavorful marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese into every bite.

Serve the Chicken Parmesan with a side of spaghetti, angel hair pasta, or garlic bread for a complete and satisfying meal. You can also garnish it with fresh basil or parsley for an extra touch of flavor and color.

SLOW-COOKER CHICKEN PARMESAN

s my love making this satisfying dish--it's easy and elegant, and the slow cooker minimizes my time in the kitchen. I make this during football season, too. For game days, I skip the pasta and serve the chicken on submarine rolls with a bit of the sauce and some chopped lettuce. You could also cut the chicken breasts in half and make sliders. -Bonnie Hawkins, Elkhorn, Wisconsin
