3 large eggs
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
2 clove garlic, finely minced
1 Tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped

1/2 tsp dried oregano
4 oz fresh mozzarella, divided into 12 pieces

Insert a piece of the fresh mozzarella into the hole and close the hole by pushing the meatball mixture around it to secure the mozzarella inside each ball.

  • 3. Pour red sauce over the meatballs and cook on LOW for approximately 5 hours. Serve the stuffed meatballs and sauce over spaghetti.
  • 4. Serve with a green salad and French Bread.

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before starting, ensure all ingredients are measured and chopped, and the slow cooker is ready.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh herbs, spices, and vegetables provide the best flavor.
  • Choose the Right Cheese: Use a cheese that melts well, such as mozzarella, cheddar, or Parmesan.
  • Stuff the Meatballs Properly: Make a small indentation in the center of each meatball and fill it with cheese. Make sure not to overfill, as the cheese may leak out during cooking.
  • Brown the Meatballs: Browning the meatballs before adding them to the slow cooker helps develop flavor and prevent them from falling apart.
  • Use a Thick Sauce: The sauce should be thick enough to coat the meatballs and prevent them from drying out. Add cornstarch or flour to thicken the sauce if needed.
  • Cook the Meatballs on Low: Cooking the meatballs on low heat ensures they cook evenly and thoroughly without drying out.
  • Serve Immediately: Cheese-stuffed meatballs are best served hot out of the slow cooker. You can garnish them with fresh herbs or grated Parmesan cheese.
