1 1/2 c beef broth
2 onions, yellow, medium, chopped
3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp worcestershire sauce

Tips:

  • Choose your protein wisely: This recipe is versatile and allows for a variety of proteins. You can use ground beef, pork, chicken, or even tofu. If using ground beef, opt for a leaner cut to reduce the amount of fat in the dish.
  • Don't skimp on the vegetables: Vegetables add flavor, texture, and nutrients to this dish. Use a variety of colorful vegetables, such as carrots, celery, onions, bell peppers, and snow peas.
  • Use a flavorful sauce: The sauce is what brings this dish together. Use a combination of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup for a classic American chop suey flavor. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper, to taste.
  • Cook on low and slow: Slow cooking allows the flavors to meld and the meat to become tender. Cook the dish on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Serve over rice: American chop suey is traditionally served over rice. You can use white rice, brown rice, or even cauliflower rice for a healthier option.

Conclusion:

This slow cooker American chop suey is an easy and delicious weeknight meal. It's packed with protein, vegetables, and flavor. Plus, it's a great way to use up leftover rice. Simply throw all of the ingredients in your slow cooker and let it cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Serve over rice and enjoy!
