3 pounds fresh green beans
2 quarts chicken stock or water
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

½ large white onion, sliced lengthwise
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups chicken broth
2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
2 pounds red potatoes, cut into chunks
