Tips:

  • Choose ripe, firm apricots: Look for fruit that is slightly soft to the touch, but not mushy. Avoid apricots that are bruised or have blemishes.
  • Use thick-cut bacon: Thin-cut bacon will easily overcook and become crispy. Thick-cut bacon will hold up better and provide a more substantial wrap for the apricots.
  • Season the bacon: Before wrapping the apricots, season the bacon with salt and pepper. This will help to enhance the flavor of the dish.
  • Cook the bacon until it is crispy: The bacon should be cooked until it is crispy, but not burnt. This will help to ensure that the apricots are cooked through and the bacon is flavorful.
  • Baste the apricots with the bacon fat: As the bacon cooks, baste the apricots with the bacon fat. This will help to keep the apricots moist and prevent them from drying out.
  • Serve the apricots hot: Sizzling bacon-wrapped apricots are best served hot. You can garnish them with fresh herbs, such as parsley or cilantro.

Conclusion:

Sizzling bacon-wrapped apricots are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for parties or potlucks. The combination of sweet apricots and savory bacon is irresistible, and the crispy bacon adds a nice textural contrast. These apricots can be made ahead of time and reheated when you are ready to serve them. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give sizzling bacon-wrapped apricots a try!
