his is a very easy recipe. My son won a purple ribbon (which is higher than a blue ribbon) at the county fair when he was 10 years old. This was also his first paid 'catering' job for a graduation party when he was 12 (he's married now, so that gives you a clue as to how long I've had this recipe). Great brownies with a mint flavored filling.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better your crème de menthe will taste. This is especially true for the mint leaves. If you can, use mint from your own garden or a local farmer's market.
  • Choose a high-quality vodka: The vodka you use will make a big difference in the final flavor of your crème de menthe. Look for a vodka that is smooth and has a neutral flavor.
  • Steep the mint leaves in the vodka for at least 24 hours: This will allow the flavors of the mint to infuse into the vodka.
  • Use a simple syrup made with sugar and water: This will help to sweeten the crème de menthe without adding any unwanted flavors.
  • Strain the crème de menthe through a fine-mesh sieve: This will remove any solids from the mixture and give you a smooth, clear liqueur.
  • Bottle the crème de menthe in a clean glass bottle: Make sure the bottle is airtight to prevent the liqueur from oxidizing.
  • Store the crème de menthe in a cool, dark place: This will help to preserve the flavor of the liqueur.

Conclusion:

Crème de menthe is a versatile liqueur that can be enjoyed in many different ways. It can be sipped neat, used in cocktails, or added to desserts. With its refreshing mint flavor, crème de menthe is a perfect choice for any occasion. So next time you're looking for a delicious and refreshing drink, give crème de menthe a try. You won't be disappointed.
