Yield 8 people

Number Of Ingredients 9

12-16 ounces Thin Noodles, Cook & Drained
¼ cup Soy Sauce (can use low sodium)
2 tbsp sugar (can use brown sugar)
4 cloves garlic, minced (3 tbsp of pre-minced)
2 tbsp apple cider or rice vinegar
6 tbsp canola oil (recipe calls for 4 tbsp)
3 tbsp sesame oil*
4 diced green onions
*I do not have sesame oil so I increased the canola oil.

Steps:

  • Cook and drain thin noodles. I bring 7 cups of water, 3 tbsp sea salt, 2 tbsp olive oil to a boil at high heat for 12 minutes. Decrease heat to low heat and add thin noodles. Cook for 10-12 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside. In a non-metal bowl mix ¼ cup of soy sauce, 2 tbsp sugar, 3 tbsp minced garlic, 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 6 tbsp canola oil, and 1 tsp hot chili oil. Once mixture is homogenized set aside. Thinly slice green onion and set aside. Pour sauce over warm noodles and toss to coat. Sprinkle green onions and toss. Serve up and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Use high-quality sesame oil. This will make a big difference in the flavor of the dish.
  • Add the noodles to the boiling water and cook according to the package directions. Do not overcook the noodles, as they will become mushy.
  • Rinse the noodles with cold water after cooking. This will help to remove the excess starch and make the noodles more chewy.
  • Prepare the sauce while the noodles are cooking. This will save time and ensure that the sauce is fresh.
  • Add the noodles to the sauce and toss to coat. Be sure to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce.
  • Garnish the noodles with sesame seeds, chopped scallions, and cilantro. This will add flavor and color to the dish.
  • Serve the noodles warm or cold. Sesame noodles can be enjoyed either way.

Conclusion:

Sesame noodles are a quick and easy dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. They are also a great option for potlucks and parties. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and flavorful dish that everyone will enjoy.
