Time 30m

Yield 3 dozen

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 bunch celery, separated into ribs
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 (6 ounce) can baby shrimp, rinsed and finely chopped
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon finely chopped green bell pepper
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
1 -2 drop hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Cut celery ribs into 2 inch pieces.
  • Finely chop one piece and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth.
  • Stir in the remaining ingredients and reserved chopped celery.
  • Stuff into celery ribs.
  • Refrigerate until serving.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, firm celery stalks. Avoid any stalks that are wilted or have brown spots.
  • Use a variety of shrimp. You can use cooked or uncooked shrimp, and you can use any size shrimp you like. If you're using uncooked shrimp, be sure to cook them thoroughly before stuffing the celery.
  • Add your favorite seasonings to the shrimp mixture. You can use garlic, onion, lemon zest, dill, or anything else you like. Don't be afraid to experiment!
  • Be careful not to overstuff the celery. You want the shrimp mixture to be packed in tightly, but you don't want to burst the celery stalks.
  • Bake the shrimp-stuffed celery until the shrimp is cooked through and the celery is tender. This will usually take about 15-20 minutes.
  • Serve the shrimp-stuffed celery immediately. Top with melted butter or a light lemon sauce, if desired.

Conclusion:

Shrimp-stuffed celery is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. It's perfect for parties or potlucks, and it's also a great way to use up leftover shrimp. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a dish that is both impressive and delicious. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give shrimp-stuffed celery a try!
