SPICY SHRIMP AND SCALLOP ALFREDO

Spicy Shrimp and Scallop Alfredo image

This just came to me when trying to figure out what to do with 1 lb of large shrimp and about 10 large scallops! I used what I had in the fridge, and if I had some fresh mushrooms I would've added them also that is why they are optional in the ingredient list. The picture I took is actually from the day I created the dish

Categories     Soup/Stew     Shellfish

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 lb fetuccini or tortellini
1 lb raw large shrimp peeled
1 lb sea scallops
10 oz fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup fresh chopped basil
4 tbs olive oil
2/3 cup dry white wine
2 can garlic alfredo sauce
pinch of salt
pinch of pepper

Steps:

  • In saucepan cook shrimp, scallops, mushrooms and basil in oil for 2 to 3 minutes or until shrimp are pink. Add wine cook until most of the wine has evaporated, about 1 minute. Add pasta sauce, heat through, season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve mixture over hot pasta.

Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will help you stay organized and make the cooking process smoother.
  • Use fresh seafood: Fresh seafood will give your Alfredo sauce the best flavor. If you can't find fresh seafood, frozen seafood is a good option.
  • Cook the seafood properly: Overcooked seafood is tough and chewy. Cook the shrimp and scallops until they are just cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Make sure the Alfredo sauce is thick and creamy: The Alfredo sauce should be thick enough to coat the pasta, but not so thick that it's gloppy. If the sauce is too thick, add a little milk or cream.
  • Serve the pasta immediately: Alfredo sauce is best served immediately after it's made. If you need to make the pasta ahead of time, you can refrigerate it for up to 2 days.

Conclusion:

Shrimp and scallop Alfredo is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight dinner. With its creamy Alfredo sauce, succulent shrimp, and tender scallops, this pasta dish is sure to please everyone at the table.
