Categories     Pies

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 unbaked pie shell
1/2 c sugar you can add more or less if you wish
2 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon, ground
5-6 large apples grated (what ever apples you have)
1/2 stick margarine or butter
1 beaten egg

Steps:

  • 1. Combine dry ingredients in large bowl fold in peeled and shredded apples.Mix melted butter and beaten egg stir into apple mixture. Pour in pie shell. Bake 40-45 minutes at 350. Serve warm with ice cream.

Tips:

  • Use a quality pie crust. Whether you're making your own or using a store-bought crust, make sure it's fresh and flaky. A good pie crust will help to ensure that your pie is light and airy.
  • Choose the right apples. For this recipe, you'll want to use a firm, tart apple that will hold its shape when cooked. Some good options include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn apples.
  • Shred the apples thinly. This will help them to cook evenly and prevent them from becoming mushy.
  • Don't overcook the apples. You want them to be tender but still have a little bit of crunch. Cook them until they are just starting to soften.
  • Use a good quality cream. The cream is what gives this pie its rich, creamy flavor. Make sure to use a heavy cream or whipping cream that contains at least 35% butterfat.
  • Don't overbeat the cream. You want it to be stiff but not too stiff. If you overbeat the cream, it will become grainy and lumpy.
  • Chill the pie before serving. This will help the filling to set and make it easier to slice.

Conclusion:

This shredded apple cream pie is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and always a hit with family and friends. With its flaky crust, tender apples, and creamy filling, this pie is sure to be a favorite.
