Tips:

  • To ensure perfectly cooked steak, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 135°F (57°C), medium is 145°F (63°C), and medium-well is 155°F (68°C).
  • Allow the steak to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
  • For the best flavor, use high-quality steak cuts such as ribeye, strip loin, or tenderloin.
  • Season the steak generously with salt and pepper before searing. This enhances the natural flavors of the meat.
  • Use a well-seasoned cast iron skillet or grill pan for searing the steak. This will create a beautiful crust and lock in the juices.
  • Sear the steak over high heat for a few minutes per side, depending on the desired doneness.
  • For the green beans, blanch them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then immediately transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. This will keep them crisp and vibrant.
  • To make the herbed butter, combine softened butter with chopped herbs, such as parsley, thyme, and rosemary. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Conclusion:

This seared steak and green beans with herbed butter is a simple yet flavorful dish that is perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight dinner. The tender and juicy steak, perfectly cooked green beans, and aromatic herbed butter come together to create a satisfying and delicious meal.
