SOY SAUCE MARINADE

Soy Sauce Marinade image

I'm not really sure where I got this recipe. It's written in my handwriting on a 3x5 card that's stained with soy sauce. This makes a good marinade for beef or pork.

Provided by LARavenscroft

Categories     Low Cholesterol

Time 5m

Yield 1 1/4 cups

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients well.
  • Pour over beef or pork and marinate 8 hours or overnight.
  • Grill or broil meat.
  • Leftover marinade should be discarded.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality seafood. Fresh seafood will have a mild, briny smell and be firm to the touch. Avoid any seafood that smells fishy or has a slimy texture.
  • Use a variety of soy sauces. There are many different types of soy sauce available, each with its unique flavor. Experiment with different types to find the one you like best.
  • Add other ingredients to your marinade. Besides soy sauce, you can add other ingredients to your marinade to enhance the flavor of the seafood. Some popular additions include ginger, garlic, honey, and sesame oil.
  • Marinate the seafood for at least 30 minutes. The longer you marinate the seafood, the more flavorful it will be. However, do not marinate the seafood for more than 24 hours, or it will become tough.
  • Cook the seafood over high heat. This will help to seal in the flavor of the marinade and prevent the seafood from becoming dry.

Conclusion:

A seafood soy sauce marinade is a great way to add flavor and moisture to your favorite seafood dishes. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious marinade that will take your seafood to the next level. So next time you're looking for a new way to cook seafood, try using a soy sauce marinade. You won't be disappointed!
