Tips:

  • Choose the right mushrooms: For this recipe, baby bella mushrooms, also known as cremini mushrooms, are recommended. They have a mild flavor and tender texture that works well with the other ingredients.
  • Slice the mushrooms thinly: This will help them cook evenly and quickly.
  • Use fresh herbs: Cilantro and lemon zest add a burst of flavor to the dish. If you don't have fresh cilantro, you can substitute 1/4 teaspoon of dried cilantro.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When sautéing the mushrooms, make sure to give them enough space so that they can brown properly. If you overcrowd the pan, the mushrooms will steam instead of sauté.
  • Cook the mushrooms until they are tender: Sauté the mushrooms until they are tender and slightly browned. This will take about 5-7 minutes.
  • Season to taste: Once the mushrooms are cooked, season them with salt and pepper to taste.

Conclusion:

Sautéed mushrooms with cilantro and lemon juice is a quick and easy side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover mushrooms and it can also be served as an appetizer or snack. With its simple ingredients and delicious flavor, this dish is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
