Number Of Ingredients 8

3/4 cup almond flour or 3/4 cup meal
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large egg
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 8 X 8 square pan with cooking spray. ( I use a Gladware ovenware pan).
  • Thoroughly stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter on high for 1 minute. Add brown sugar and stir well. Stir in the egg and vanilla and beat 15 strokes with a mixing spoon.
  • Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and stir just until mixed. Mixture will still be very warm so let it cool for 5 minutes. Stir in chips.
  • Sometimes I stir in a teaspoon of cinnamon just for kicks.
  • Bake for 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean and bars appear set (edges will be brown).
  • Let cool for about 20 minutes. Slice into 16 bars.

Tips:

- **Use a saucepan that is at least 6 inches in diameter.** This will give the cookies enough room to spread out and cook evenly. - **Do not overmix the batter.** Overmixing will make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined. - **Chill the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.** This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much. - **Bake the cookies at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.** - **Let the cookies cool on a wire rack before serving.** This will help them to set and prevent them from falling apart.

Conclusion:

Saucepan cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a batch of delicious cookies that are perfect for any occasion. So next time you're in the mood for something sweet, give saucepan cookies a try. You won't be disappointed!
