SANTA CLAUS SUGAR COOKIES
I've used this recipe for almost 40 years and love it because it's a little different than most. My mom always made Santa cookies, and we'd put them into little clear bags tied with ribbon to hang on the tree.-Ann Bush, Colorado City, Colorado

Tips:
- Chill the Dough: Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling and cutting helps the cookies keep their shape and prevents them from spreading too much in the oven.
- Use a Sharp Cookie Cutter: A sharp cookie cutter will give you clean, precise cuts and help prevent the dough from sticking to the cutter.
- Bake the Cookies Until Golden Brown: Bake the cookies until they are just golden brown around the edges. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
- Let the Cookies Cool Completely: Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack before decorating them. This will help them set and prevent them from breaking.
- Be Creative with Decorations: Have fun decorating the cookies with frosting, sprinkles, candy, or other decorations. You can also use edible markers to draw faces or other designs on the cookies.
Conclusion:
These Santa and elf Christmas cookies are a fun and festive treat that is perfect for the holiday season. With a little bit of planning and effort, you can create these adorable cookies that are sure to be a hit with family and friends.
