1 cup chopped strawberry licorice twists (such as Twizzlers®)
2 cups broken small pretzels
2 ½ cups brown sugar
2 cups butter

6 cups fresh popped popcorn
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons confectioners' sugar

Tips:

  • Choose the right popcorn kernels: For the best results, use fresh, high-quality popcorn kernels. Avoid using old or stale kernels, as they may not pop properly.
  • Use the right amount of oil: Too much oil can make the popcorn greasy, while too little can make it dry. A good rule of thumb is to use about 2 tablespoons of oil for every 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels.
  • Heat the oil properly: The oil should be hot enough to pop the popcorn kernels, but not so hot that it burns the popcorn. The ideal temperature is around 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Add the popcorn kernels to the oil: Once the oil is hot, add the popcorn kernels to the pot. Be sure to cover the pot with a lid, as this will help to trap the heat and ensure that the popcorn pops evenly.
  • Shake the pot: As the popcorn begins to pop, shake the pot back and forth. This will help to distribute the heat evenly and prevent the popcorn from burning.
  • Remove the popcorn from the heat: Once the popping sounds have stopped, remove the pot from the heat. Pour the popcorn into a large bowl and let it cool slightly before serving.

Conclusion:

Salty-sweet popcorn is a delicious and easy-to-make snack that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With its perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors, this popcorn is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering. So next time you're looking for a sweet and salty snack, give this recipe a try!
