SAGE TURKEY THIGHS
I created this for my boys, who love dark meat. It is more convenient than cooking a whole turkey and reminds me of our traditional Thanksgiving turkey that's seasoned with sage. -Natalie Swanson, Baltimore, Maryland

Sometimes you just want the delicious flavor of turkey without having to deal with a whole huge bird! I came up with this recipe after a lot of trial and error and I'm very pleased. The flavors in maple syrup par very well with the seasonings.

Tips:
- Choose fresh, high-quality turkey thighs: Look for thighs that are plump and have a light pink color. Avoid thighs that are bruised or have an off odor.
- Use a sharp knife to remove the skin from the turkey thighs: This will help the seasoning to better penetrate the meat.
- Season the turkey thighs generously with a mixture of sage, salt, and pepper: Be sure to rub the seasoning into the meat so that it is evenly distributed.
- Sear the turkey thighs in a hot skillet until golden brown: This will help to seal in the juices and flavor.
- Transfer the turkey thighs to a baking dish and add some chicken broth: This will help to keep the thighs moist during baking.
- Roast the turkey thighs in a preheated oven until they are cooked through: The internal temperature of the thighs should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Let the turkey thighs rest for a few minutes before serving: This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
Conclusion:
Sage turkey thighs are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The combination of sage, salt, and pepper gives the turkey thighs a flavorful crust, while the chicken broth helps to keep them moist. These thighs can be served with a variety of sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a salad.
