SAVORY CREAM CHEESE AND PINEAPPLE PARTY DIP

Savory Cream Cheese and Pineapple Party Dip image

This is one of my "back pocket" recipes for a quick and tasty party dip. I've had people ask me if it is chicken salad, because the pineapple adds a texture that is similar to shredded chicken, and the savory ingredients mask the pineapple flavor. It's perfect for a little bite before a meal or a satisfying afternoon snack on your favorite crackers. If you like, you can sneak in some vegetables, and serve it on celery sticks, or those little tri-color mini bell peppers, cut in half.

RONA'S PINEAPPLE & CHEESE DIP

Rona's Pineapple & Cheese Dip image

I love cheesy dip's but sadly I am the only one that does, so I make a very small amount to have with nibbles when relaxing. This one is a very mild dip but nice and fresh, if you want it a wee bit looser you can add a bit of juice from the pineapple. You can also add as much or as little of the spice as you like the choice is yours.

Categories     Cheese

Time 10m

Yield 2 portions, 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

50 g cream cheese
50 g of swiss gruyere cheese
50 g of minced pineapple
fresh grated nutmeg
crushed allspice berry

Steps:

  • Finely grate your swiss cheese and mix with the cream cheese and pineapple. Add the fresh nutmeg and crushed allspice, mix well and enjoy.

Tips:

  • Use fresh pineapple for the best flavor. If using canned pineapple, be sure to drain it well.
  • Grate the cheese yourself for a smoother dip. Pre-shredded cheese can be dry and clumpy.
  • Add the pineapple juice to the dip gradually, until you reach the desired consistency. You don't want the dip to be too thin or too thick.
  • Chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the dip to thicken up.
  • Serve the dip with a variety of dippers, such as crackers, chips, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

Rona's Pineapple Cheese Dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. With its sweet and tangy flavor, this dip is sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you're looking for a crowd-pleasing snack, give Rona's Pineapple Cheese Dip a try. You won't be disappointed!
