Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 cups fresh Brussels sprouts, halved
2 -3 cups red seedless grapes
1/2 cup shelled walnuts (large pieces, not diced)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh thyme (optional)
kosher salt (go light) or sea salt (go light)
fresh ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.

  • Roast for 25-30 minutes or until the sprouts are well-browned in places, the nuts are fully toasted and the grapes are darkened in color and very plump.
  • As soon as you remove the pan from the oven drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the contents of the pan and toss to coat. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with a little additional sea salt, if desired.

Tips for Making the Best Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Grapes:

  • Choose fresh, firm Brussels sprouts. Look for sprouts that are deep green in color and have tightly closed leaves. Avoid any sprouts that are yellowed, bruised, or have loose leaves.
  • Trim the Brussels sprouts. Cut off the stem end of each Brussels sprout and remove any yellow or wilted leaves.
  • Halve the Brussels sprouts. Cut each Brussels sprout in half lengthwise. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Be sure to coat the sprouts evenly.
  • Add the grapes. Grapes add a sweet and juicy flavor to the dish. You can use any type of grape you like, but red or black grapes will add a pop of color.
  • Roast the Brussels sprouts and grapes at a high temperature. This will help them caramelize and develop a delicious flavor.
  • Stir the Brussels sprouts and grapes halfway through roasting. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Serve the roasted Brussels sprouts and grapes immediately. They are best enjoyed hot and crispy.

Conclusion:

Roasted Brussels sprouts with grapes is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. The Brussels sprouts are roasted until they are tender and slightly caramelized, and the grapes add a sweet and juicy flavor. This dish is sure to be a hit with everyone at your table.
