THE PERFECT MARGARITA

The Perfect Margarita image

Mastering the margarita requires a certain amount of practice, but once you dial-in your perfect ratio, it's a really easy cocktail to replicate. The classic recipe is 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, and 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice, and you should probably start off pretty close to that, but my personal favorite proportions are 4-3-2.

RIVERBANK MARGARITAS

Riverbank Margaritas image

It's called riverbank margaritas because you can carry everything you need to the riverbank! Very tasty! You can have it on the rocks or we sometimes put it in resealable bags in the freezer and it becomes slushy.

Tips:

  • Use fresh lime juice. Fresh lime juice is essential for a great margarita. Bottled or canned lime juice will not give you the same flavor.
  • Use good-quality tequila. A good-quality tequila will make a big difference in the flavor of your margarita. Look for a tequila that is 100% agave and has a smooth taste.
  • Use orange liqueur. Orange liqueur is a traditional ingredient in margaritas. It adds a bit of sweetness and complexity to the drink.
  • Use simple syrup. Simple syrup is a mixture of sugar and water that is used to sweeten margaritas. You can make your own simple syrup by dissolving 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of boiling water.
  • Chill your ingredients. Chilling your ingredients will help to make a more refreshing margarita.
  • Salt the rim of your glass. Salting the rim of your glass is a classic margarita garnish. It adds a bit of flavor and helps to keep the margarita from dripping down the sides of the glass.
  • Serve your margarita with a lime wedge. A lime wedge is a traditional garnish for margaritas. It adds a bit of freshness and flavor to the drink.
