Yogi Tea image

Back in the 1960's, Yogi Bhajan was working on an idea for an organization called 3HO-Healthy, Happy and Holy Organization. That idea has long since been a reality. Yogi Bhajan was my teacher and the person who gave me my spiritual name, Swami Kaur. He also brought with him several recipes which have been enjoyed by thousands...

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 qt boiling watter
20 whole cloves
20 whole green cardamon pods(you can open them up a bit)
20 whole black peppercorns
5 4"-5" cinnamon sticks
1/4 tsp black tea, your choice
1/2 c cold milk per cup of remaining liquid
sugar or honey to taste
1 vanilla bean (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. to the pot of boiling water add: cloves (see them dance), cardamon pods, black peppercorns and cinnamon sticks, and the vanill bean if you are using it..continue at a low boil for 15 - 20 minutes.
  • 2. add the black tea and continue boiling for 1-2 minutes.
  • 3. strain the tea and measure.
  • 4. put back into the pan and add 1/2 cup of milk for each cup of tea and warm up the mixture until it returns to a boil and IMMEDIATELY remove from the heat (watch it so it doesn't boil over. Add honey or sugar and serve.
