WARM APPLE SAUTE WITH ICE CREAM image

Just received this recipe in the mail and now I need some more apples. This sounds SO good and easy. Could be a great comfort food dessert too! Can't wait to try it. Recipe & photo: Kroger.com 09-22-14

3 Tbsp butter
4 large apples (cored, peeled and sliced)
1/4 c brown sugar
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 c dried cranberries
vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Add butter and stir until melted. Add apple slices and saute 6 to 8 minutes.
  • 2. Add brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and dried cranberries. Cook for 2 minutes more.
  • 3. Scoop the ice cream into dessert bowls and top with the warm apples. Refrigerate any leftovers. May substitute raisins for cranberries if you prefer.
