Based on a recipe from the box my Tommy Bahama Ultra Premium Rum came in. It reminds us that the Mai Tai was invented in 1944! And here I thought it was invented while I was in college! :)

This Mai Tai is a must-try! It's the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and smoky. I love the addition of mezcal, it really takes this cocktail to the next level.

I wasn't a big fan of this Mai Tai. It was too sweet and the mezcal was too strong for my taste.

Not a fan of this Mai Tai. The mezcal is too overpowering and it doesn't taste like a Mai Tai at all.

This Mai Tai is a bit too sweet for my taste, but it's still a good drink. I might try reducing the amount of simple syrup next time.

This Mai Tai is the perfect balance of sweet and sour, with a hint of smokiness from the mezcal. The presentation is also beautiful, with the pineapple wedge and cherry adding a tropical touch.
