These cookies are wonderful. I love gingersnaps, but these have a whole new dimension. I found the recipe in Thru the Grapevine, put out by the Junior League of Elmira. Prep time does not include refrigeration time.

These cookies were a bit too dry for my taste. I think I'll try adding a little bit more sour cream next time.

I had a hard time finding crystallized ginger, so I used ground ginger instead. The cookies still turned out great, but they didn't have quite as much of a ginger flavor.

These cookies are a bit too sweet for my taste, but I still enjoyed them. I think I'll try reducing the amount of sugar next time.

These cookies are a little bit crumbly, but that's part of what makes them so delicious. They're perfect for dunking in a cup of coffee or tea.

I'm not a big fan of ginger, but I actually really enjoyed these cookies. The sour cream mellows out the ginger flavor perfectly.
