This recipe was given to me by one of my very best college friends! I have made it so many times over the years...and think of her every time! Thank you dear, Kathy!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 unbaked 9" deep dish pie crust
1 lb bulk sausage...your preference!
1 onion, chopped
1/2 c grated sharp cheddar cheese, plus a little more!
3 Tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp Worchestershire sauce
1 1/4 c milk

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a cookie sheet (with sides) with foil. Place the unbaked pie crust on top.
  • 2. Brown together the sausage and chopped onion, drain.
  • 3. Place in the unbaked pie crust. Top with the cheddar cheese. Then sprinkle the flour on top.
  • 4. In a separate bowl, mix together well the beaten eggs, salt, pepper, Worshestershire sauce and milk. Carefully pour over the flour. Be sure to not overfill!
  • 5. Bake for approximately 40 minutes until set.
  • 6. Helpful hint! Brown the sausage and onion together the night before. Then just warm the mixture up in the microwave the next morning before assembling the quiche. Bake and enjoy!

I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but my quiche was really dry. I think I might have overcooked it.

I'm not sure what type of cheese the recipe is referring to. I used cheddar and mozzarella, but I'm not sure if that's what was intended.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my quiche didn't turn out at all like the picture. It was still edible, but it was more like a frittata than a quiche.
