1 small red cabbage, cored and thinly sliced
3 medium apples, cored and grated
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 dash red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup cooked crumbled bacon (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine cabbage, apples, red wine vinegar, sugar, cloves and pepper flakes if using, in slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on High 6 hours.
  • stirring after 3 hours.
  • Sprinkle with bacon, if desired.
