Peppered Flank Steak image

My mother passed down this recipe to me, and I use it often to make fajitas. The lemon juice and soy sauce give it some zing.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 tablespoons chopped green onion
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1 beef flank steak (1-1/2 pounds)

Steps:

  • In a shallow dish, combine the first 7 ingredients; add steak and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate overnight., Drain and discard marinade. On a lightly oiled grill rack, grill steak, covered, over medium-hot heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°). Thinly slice across the grain.
