Penzey's Ham and Asparagus Bake image

This just came in Penzey's Spring '08 catalog. We tried this and it was really yummy! I added the 1 more cup of asparagus and you could use Egg Beaters to reduce the cholesterol. I adjusted the seasonings just a bit.

I'm not a big fan of asparagus, but I loved this dish. The ham and sauce really masked the flavor of the asparagus.

The sauce was a little too thin for my liking. I'll try adding some cornstarch or flour next time to thicken it up.

This dish was a little bland for my taste. I think I'll add some more salt and pepper next time.

I added some chopped mushrooms to this dish and it was even better. Next time I'll try adding some other vegetables, like zucchini or bell pepper.
