Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drain pears, reserving 1/2 cup of the syrup. Put the pears in an 8-inch baking pan. Blend cream cheese, preserves, and butter; pour over pears. Beat the cake mix with the reserved syrup, oil, egg, and ginger; pour over cream cheese mixture. Spread to cover the top. Bake 35-40 minutes or until golden brown on top (do not overcook). Serve warm with a dash of whole cream.
