Steps:
- 1. Preheat the oven to 375.
- 2. Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
- 3. Wash the oranges, zest the peel, and get 1 cup of fresh juice from the oranges.
- 4. Cream together the sugar, shortening and orange rind. Then add the eggs to mix thoroughly.
- 5. Blend in dry ingredients alternating with orange juice. Beat together until thorough moistened and blended.
- 6. ***** IMPORTANT****** Grease the baking pans well! Remove from pans immediately and cool. Best served warm with real butter!
