If you make your own homemade applesauce than this is the cake recipe for you. Using store-bought just will not work ( I tried, very dry and hard result). But with the homemade this is a very moist, delicous and versatile cake, I have served it plain sans icing, iced it with my grandmothers butterscotch icing or vanilla or cream cheese icings, all with rave reviews. So if you've got a couple cups of left over applesauce give it a try!
