Navy Bean Soup image

I just love this soup

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 lb navy beans
1 tsp garlic pepper seasoning
1/2 chopped celery
1 tsp sage or poultry seasoning
1/2 c chopped carrots
1/4 c oil
1/2 c chopped onion
1 tsp salt
1/3 c chopped green pepper
1 tsp parsley
1 bay leaf
2 oz tomato paste

Steps:

  • 1. Wash beans in cold water and soak for 10 minutes. Place beans in large pot. Add twice amount of cold water as substance. Bring water to a boil. Lower heat and cook beans for 10 minutes and skim off foam. Add vegetables bay leaf, garlic pepper seasoning, and sage. Cover pot; cook on low heat until beans are soft(at least one hour) Add additional cold water if you need more cooking time. Add tomato paste or crushed tomatoes.
