Nana's Hungarian Cheese Spread image

I just moved my mother to a retirement home and this was in her "notebook" of recipes. It uses Hungarian paprika, caraway seeds, cream cheese and capers. I didn't remember this but my parents entertained a lot and this must have been one of her dips.

1/4 lb butter
1/2 lb cream cheese
1 teaspoon caraway seed
3/4 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoons chives, chopped (or onion)
1 teaspoon capers, chopped

Steps:

  • Cream butter and cream cheese.
  • Add caraway seeds, paprika, chives and capers.
  • Serve with pumpernickel bread.
