Number Of Ingredients 7

2 pkgs of Pepperidge Farm Stuffing mix
1/2 stick of butter
1 lb Jimmy Dean bulk sage sausage
5 oz jar Green Giant mushroom pieces
1 cup chopped celery
4 eggs
water per package and enough more to make a very moist stuffing

Steps:

  • Crumble sausage into a skillet with 1/2 stick of butter and saute until sausage is done. Add water per package along with celery and mushrooms. Empty the contents of both packages of stuffing mix into a large roaster pan to mix. Beat egs until thoroughly mixed but not frothy and pour over dressing mix. Pour hot sausage, water, celery and mushrooms over the eggs and dressing mix. Add enough additional water to make a very moist dressing but with no additional water in the bottom of the pan. Stuff the bird. Coat an oven-proof bowl with cooking spray and spoon extra dressing into the bowl. Cut a piece of waxed paper to fit the dressing in the bowl and seal the dressing with it. Cook the extra dressing at 325 with the turkey, but take the bowl out early to that the dressing doesn't get too done.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my dressing turned out too salty. I think I'll use less salt next time.
