Meatloaf Burgers image

I made these burgers a long time ago and wondered why I haven't had them in so long as I really liked them. If you like meatloaf sandwiches then you will like this version, only you don't have to make a meatloaf first. Serve on a bun and put whatever toppings you like on these. Or if you want, eat without the bun, they are good...

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb ground beef
1/2 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 c crushed saltine crackers
1 large egg, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp ketchup
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray; set aside.
  • 2. In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients. Do not over mix. Divide beef mixture into 4 or 6 equal portions, depending on what size patty you want. Place on prepared baking sheet.
  • 3. Transfer to oven; bake about 5 to 7 minutes, flip over for about another 5 to 7 minutes, until burgers are cooked through. Watch time as it depends on the size of your patty. Can fry these as well. I have done both.

Overall, these burgers were good, but not great. I think I'll stick to my regular meatloaf recipe next time.

I found the glaze to be a bit too sweet for my liking. I think I'll try using a different glaze next time.

These burgers were a bit dry for my taste. I think I might try adding some more moisture to the meatloaf mixture next time.
