Number Of Ingredients 8

1 tablespoon Kosher salt
4 + 4 tablespoon Olive oil
1/2 cup tomato paste
1 tablespoon red pepper
1 1/2 cup tomatoes
1 1/2 cups Pomi tomatoes
1 pound Penne pasta
1 Parmigiano-Reggiano, freshly grated for serving

Steps:

  • Bring 6 quarts of water to a boil in a large pot, and add 1 tablespoons kosher salt.
  • Meanwhile, put 4 tablespoons olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat, and then add the tomato paste and pepper flakes; reduce the heat to low and stir just until fragrant, about 4 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes, and remove from the heat.
  • Drop the pasta into the boiling water, and cook until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta water.
  • Add the pasta and the reserved pasta water to the tomato sauce, stir and toss over medium heat until the pasta is well coated. Season with salt if necessary, then add the remaining oil, tossing well. Serve immediately, with grated Parmigiano-Reggiano on the side.

I'm not a big fan of spicy food, but this dish was just right. The sauce was flavorful and the penne was cooked perfectly.

This recipe is a great way to get your kids to eat vegetables. I often sneak in some chopped spinach or kale into the sauce.

I'm a vegetarian, so I use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. It turns out great!

This dish is a great way to use up leftover pasta. I often make a big batch of penne on the weekend and then use it to make this dish during the week.

The sauce was too thin for my liking. I added some tomato paste to thicken it up, and it was much better.

This recipe was a bit bland for my taste. I think I would have liked it better if I had added some more garlic and red pepper flakes.

This recipe was a bit too spicy for my taste. I think I would have liked it better if I had used less red pepper flakes. The sauce was also a bit thin, so I added some tomato paste to thicken it up.

I'm not a huge fan of spicy food, but this dish was surprisingly mild. The sauce had a nice tomato flavor, and the penne was cooked perfectly. I would definitely make this again, but I might use less red pepper flakes next time.

This is my go-to recipe for a quick and easy weeknight meal. The sauce comes together in no time, and the penne cooks in just a few minutes. I always have the ingredients on hand, so it's a lifesaver on busy nights.

I've made this recipe several times now, and it's always a crowd-pleaser. The sauce is simple to make, but it's packed with flavor. I like to add a little bit of extra garlic and red pepper flakes to give it a bit of a kick.
