Marinated Rib Eye Steak RUB image

I wanted to add a nice Rub to my husbands Favorite Steaks for Father's Day & this is the Blend of herbs & spices that I used. I allowed the steaks to marinate over night, then brought them to room temperature before cooking them. You can cook them on the grill outside or indoors in a griddle skillet or on a griddle iron. Number Of Ingredients 7

HERB RUB FOR STEAKS
1 Tbsp smoked paprika
2 tsp smoked alderwoood sea salt
11/2 Tbsp granulated garlic(not garlic salt)
2 Tbsp dried thyme
1 tsp coarse black pepper
1 Tbsp parsley or chopped chive

Steps:

  • 1. Measure out all the herbs and spices onto a small platter or plate.
  • 2. This is what they look like. We love the flavor of the Alderwood Smoked Sea Salt. Use caution when seasoning meats with salt so you don't use too much. This blend was enough to season 6 Rib Eye Steaks.
  • 3. Then combine together in a small bowl. If you would like a finer texture, pulse in a food processor for a couple of times.
  • 4. Season steaks liberally on both sides. then allow to stand at room temperature for at least 15 minutes to an hour, or wrap and refrigerate overnight for a more intense flavor.
  • 5. Bring to room temperature before grilling.
  • 6. Add olive oil to a grill skillet or you may want to cook on the grill. Bring temperature to very high heat, when hot and smoking add steaks carefully to grill skillet. Sear on one side about 3 minutes then do a quarter turn and sear for an additional 3 minutes. Flip steak over and place in preheated broiler and continue to cook for about 4-5 minutes depending on how you like your steak cooked. Remove from broiler.
  • 7. Top with herb butter if desired, while steaks are still hot as steaks rest about 10 minutes before serving.
