Kielbasa Appetizers image

I got the idea to make these when we had a Hickory Farm store at our local mall. They had cheddy brauts that they would cook right in front of the store, mmm were they good. Well the store isn't there anymore and I missed them. One Holiday I bought the Kielbasa and thought hmm slice these and buy the Kraft sweet and sour sauce...

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 2

1-2 lb or pkgs of kielbasa (i usually buy 2)
1 bottle of kraft sweet and sour sauce (pictured above)

Steps:

  • 1. Doesn't cost much to make these and so easy, the men will gobble em up in no time.
  • 2. I just use a cast iron pan, spray with oil, slice your kielbasa in coin shapes, place in pre-heated medium heated pan, use a brush to apply the sweet and sour sauce on top of each one. Turn and brush the other side and wait til they are nicely browned . Your done. Serve on a platter with toothpicks available or stuck in each one.
  • 3. The picture above was taken when I was just starting to cook them, you want them a little more browned than it shows in the picture.
  • 4. Sauce is Kraft Food , www.kraftfoods.com. For more information or to sign up for a free subscription, please visit www.kraftfoods.com/magazine."

I had some trouble getting the appetizers to stay on the skewers. I think I needed to cook them for a little longer.

These appetizers were a little too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved them. Next time I'll use a milder sausage.

I substituted ground beef for the kielbasa and they were still delicious. I also added some chopped onion and bell pepper for extra flavor.
