Kate's Turkey Meatballs image

These turkey meatballs with an Italian flair are easier to make than you might think.

1 white onion, chopped
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 pounds ground turkey
1 pound ground turkey breast
2 eggs
1 cup Italian-style bread crumbs (such as Progresso®)
¼ cup skim milk
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons olive oil, or as needed

Steps:

  • Combine onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat. Cook until softened, 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl.
  • Add ground turkey, ground turkey breast, eggs, bread crumbs, milk, black pepper, oregano, basil, and salt to the bowl with the onions. Mix well and form into approximately 60 equal-sized balls.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry meatballs until browned outside and no longer pink inside, about 10 minutes. Add cooked meatballs to sauce.
