This is the ultimate chocolate chip cookie. There are so many flavors rolled into this cookie. You have a chocolate chip cookie with banana and the texture of oatmeal. 1 c shortening
1/2 c white sugar
3/4 c brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c mashed banana (about two medium)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 c all-purpose flour
2 c oatmeal (I use quick oatmeal)
6 oz or 1/2 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and banana.
  • 2. Add dry ingredients.
  • 3. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • 4. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
  • 5. Bake 10-14 minutes.
  • 6. Makes 3-4 dozen, depending on size of spoonfuls.
