Honey Crunchies image

These are simple, wholesome, ingredients that combine to create an "old world" flavor that reminds me of Baklava.

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 c quick cooking oats
1 c flaked coconut
1 c chopped pecans
1 c flour
1/2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c butter
1/3 c honey

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, mix the oats, coconut, pecans and flour.
  • 2. In a heavy sauce pan, heat the brown sugar, butter and honey until it reaches a boil.
  • 3. Pour the honey mixture over the dry ingredients and mix well.
  • 4. Drop the dough by rounded teaspoon into greased muffin tins so that the cookies retain their shape.
  • 5. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • 6. Cool in the pan.
