#1 HAYSTACKS CANDY
1 pkg butterscotch chips
1 Tbs shortening (crisco)
1 pkg chow mein noodles
1 C peanuts (optional)
#2 ASIAN FLAIR HAYSTACKS
same as above just add 1or 2 whole almonds to each tbs. or nest of noodles made on wax paper lined sheet.
#3 SHREDDED COCONUT HAYSTACKS
1/2 lb white choc chips melted
2 C shredded coconut
#4 PEANUT BUTTER HAYSTACKS
3/4 C creamy peanut butter
1 2/3 C butterscotch chips melted
1 can (8oz) chow mein noodles or (2) 5 oz.
3 1/2 C mini marshmallows

Steps:

  • 1. #1. Haystacks directions: Melt Chips add shortening, when all melted well, remove from heat. Toss in Noodles, & peanuts, coat well. Drop on wax paper By Tbs. Chill til set.
  • 2. #2. ASIAN FLAIR Directions: Make same as for Haystacks above; spoon by Tbs. onto wax paper. add into center of each nest 1 or 2 whole Almonds. Chill till set.
  • 3. #3. SHREDDED COCONUT HAYSTACKS Directions: Melt White Choc chips, remove from Heat. add 2 C shredded coconut toss fast and well to coat. Drop by tsp onto wax paper lined sheet, to harden about 35-45 min. or chill in refer
  • 4. #4. PEANUT BUTTER HAYSTACKS Directions: Line pan with wax paper. Microwave Chips 1 min. then 10 to 20 sec more,till just melted, and stirs smooth. Stir in Peanut butter. Add: Noodles,& mini marshmallows, toss to coat well. Drop by Tbs onto wax paper lined tray. Chill till ready to serve.
  • 5. More VARIATIONS: to all above; Potato sticks can be used in place of noodles. also Small Pretzel sticks can be used in place of noodles. PEANUTS can be added to any of these.
