Grilled Goats Cheese With Fresh Figs image

Very quick and easy to make. I made this up myself last night and tested it on husband Paul - we both loved it.

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

200 g goat cheese
2 fresh figs
balsamic vinegar
olive oil

Steps:

  • Use two 100g goats cheese rounds for this recipe.
  • Place the goats cheese on a lightly oiled baking tray. Drizzle a little olive oil on top of each cheese.
  • Cut the stem part off each fig and discard.
  • Now slice each fig into about 3 slices.
  • Place on the baking tray with the goats cheese and drizzle a little balsamic vinegar onto the figs (not onto the cheese).
  • Place under a hot grill for just a couple of minutes until the cheese starts to bubble.
  • Serve as a starter. Yum Yum!
  • **PS: If I manage to get my photo on here for this recipes you will see I've slightly cooked the cheese too long. Not that it matters but it doesn't look as nice on the plate as it should do. Ooops!

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover goat cheese. I had some leftover from another recipe and I decided to try this. I'm glad I did because it was delicious! The cheese was melted and creamy and the figs were perfectly sweet. I would definit

I'm allergic to goat cheese, but I was able to substitute feta cheese and it turned out great. The figs were perfectly caramelized and the feta cheese was melted and creamy. I would definitely make this again with feta cheese.

I've made this recipe several times and it's always a hit. The cheese gets nice and melty and the figs are perfectly caramelized. I like to add a little bit of balsamic vinegar to the figs before grilling.

This recipe is a summer staple at our house! The flavors of the grilled cheese and fresh figs are a perfect match. We like to serve it with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of chopped pistachios.
