Grandma B's Cranberry Salad image

This recipe has been passed down from my great-great grandmother. Now I am worried that it will be lost so I want to post it so that it is always save. I have searched for a recipe similar to this one with no luck

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 (3 ounce) boxes raspberry Jell-O gelatin, you can use any red, but raspberry is the best
1 lb cranberries, chopped
4 cups sugar
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained juice reserved
4 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • Use the reserved pineapple juice to make the 4 cups of water.
  • Combine sugar, cranberries, pineapples and nuts in a large bowl.
  • In a smaller bowl mix Jello with hot water/Juice till Jello is dissolved.
  • Combine both the cranberries and Jello.
  • Chill till firm.
