Golden Yellow Split Pea Soup (Crockpot / Slow Cooker) image

I modified this from a Food and Wine recipe--and I think it is a keeper! We like to have it with grilled ham and cheese (or just cheese for Lent). I especially like this as the seasoning is a little different and makes a nice change from our usual split pea and ham soup.

This soup is too thick for my liking. I had to add more broth to thin it out.

This soup is way too salty for my taste. I had to add a lot of water to dilute it.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my soup turned out bland. I think I might have added too much water.
