French Toast Waffle image

I wanted to make just a little bit of French Toast for breakfast, and didn't want to drag out the griddle. My waffle iron was sitting on the counter, having just been cleaned the day before. I decided to cook the French Toast in the waffle iron. Perfect!

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 large egg, beaten
1/2 c eggnog (or cream or milk)
3 large slices bread
butter

Steps:

  • 1. Whip together the egg and eggnog (or cream) in a shallow bowl. Preheat your waffle iron to a medium setting.
  • 2. Soak each bread slice (1 at a time) in the batter. Brush the waffle iron with butter, and place one prepared slice of bread on the waffle iron. Close lid and wait for indicator, or check after 2-3 minutes.
  • 3. Remove waffle to serving plate and top with a little more butter. Repeat with remaining bread slices. Serve with honey, syrup, fruit, or powdered sugar.
